SUMMARY:The Shalom Hartman Series: Liberal Zionism: Between Crisis & Aspiration – Lunch & Learn
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Join Rabbi Emeritus David Steinhardt for series on Liberal Zionism: Between Crisis & Aspiration. The past two years have raised urgent\, complex\, and at times painful questions about Zionism. For many rabbis\, the work as community leaders has become harder: harder to hold community together\, harder to navigate the emotional and ideological divides\, and harder to chart a meaningful path forward. In this eight-unit course\, Hartman scholars explore the core tensions and values of liberal Zionism\, responding to the dominant critiques of Israel and Zionism in a post-October 7 reality. Together\, in 8 weeks\, we’ll explore frameworks for holding moral complexity\, for teaching about Israel in a time of war\, and for engaging our communities with courage\, compassion\, and clarity. \n IN-PERSON and VIRTUAL\n Free for B’nai Torah Members\, $54 Guests \n Click here to register \n\n The Shalom Hartman Institute is a leading research and educational center serving Israel and world Jewry working to enrich the moral and spiritual life of Israel and the Jewish people\, deepen the commitment to pluralism and Israel’s Jewish and democratic character\, and rebuild the covenant between Israel and the Jewish world.
